How TO pray

    Pray for Nations

    Kingdom Come

    • Proclaim Jesus as King over rulers (Ps 72:11; 1 Tim 6:15; Rev 17:14)
    • Call on the Father to let His Kingdom Come and His will to be done in the country (region/city/town) as in heaven (Matt 6:9, 10)
    • Let the earth be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea (Is 11:9)
    • Proclaim that the nations will go up to the mountain of the Lord to be taught by Him the ways of the Lord (Mic 4:2)
    • Pray that the Jesus (the Root of Jesse) be raised up as a banner and that the nations would seek Him (Is 11:10)
    • Pray that Jesus would receive the nations as His inheritance and the ends of the Earth as His possession (Ps 2:8)
    • Pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers into His harvest (Luke 10:2)​

    Justice and Peace in the nations

    • Ask the Lord to judge between peoples and nations. (Mic 4:3; Is 2:4)
    • Declare that the nations would not lift up sword against nation and not learn the ways of war (Mic 4:3; Is 2:4)
    • And that they would beat their swords into ploughshares and spears into pruning hooks (Mic 4:3; Is 2:4)

    Forgiveness

    • Speak love, blessing, forgiveness over nations/people/tribes that are or have been enemies to you and your nation/people/tribe (Matt 5:43-48; Matt 6:12, 14, 15)

    Healing for the Nations

    • Pray that the river of the water of life would flow from the throne of God and of the Lamb to the nations and that the nations would be healed (Rev 22:1,2; Eze 47:12)

    Pray for Political Leaders

    Salvation

    • Pray for the Leaders and their advisers’ salvation – God desires all men to be saved. (1 Tim 2:4)

    Wisdom and God’s guidance

    • Pray that they would hear the word of the Lord’s mouth and praise the Lord together with all the kings of the earth. (Ps 138:4)
    • Pray that they would be wise and put their trust in the Father, serve Him with fear and rejoice with trembling (Ps 2:10-12)
    • Declare that no ruler is saved by the size of an army nor by great strength, but that the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear Him and place their hope in His mercy. (Ps. 33:16-19)
    • Call for the rulers to let their soul wait on Him, their help and shield. (Ps. 33:20)
    • Pray that their heart would rejoice in placing their trust in His holy name, let them place their hope in the Father and let His mercy be upon them (Ps. 33:21-23)
    • Pray that the Father would grant them wisdom, prudence, knowledge and discretion and the fear of Him, hating evil, pride, arrogance and the perverse mouth (Pro 8:12-14)

    Advisers

    • Pray that advisers and friends with wicked intent would be removed from before them, that their position may be established in righteousness (Pro 25:5).
    • Pray that that would seek out and be surrounded with friends, advisers who love purity of heart and have grace on their lips (Pro 22:11).
    • Pray that they would delight in righteous lips and love those that speak what is right (Pro 16:3).
    • Pray that those who excel in their work and ways would stand before them (Pro 22:29), that excellent advisers would be promoted.

    Justice and resisting temptation

    • Pray that the Father would give them His judgements and His righteousness (Ps 72:1) and wisdom to rule and decree justice (Pro 8:15, 16)
    • Pray that they would not transgress in judgment (Pro 16:10)
    • Pray that the leaders would be kept from temptation and accepting bribes so that they would establish the land by justice (Pro 29:4; Matt 6:13)
    • Pray that they would not give their ways to that which destroys rulers, including lust, pleasures and consumption of that which intoxicates so that they do not forget the law and pervert the justice of the afflicted (Pro 31:3-5)
    • Pray that they would be established in righteousness and not commit wickedness (Pro 16:12)
    • Pray that they would turn away from the ways of oppression, bloodshed, bribes, injustice, evil and perversion of all equity (Mic 3)
    • Pray that they sit in a position of judgement and scatter all evil and in wisdom sift out the wicked, bringing justice to the oppressor (Pro 20:8, Ps 72:4).
    • Pray that they would judge the poor with truth (Pro 29:14).
    • Pray that they would stand up for and save the children of the needy, the poor and needy from oppression and violence (Ps 72:4).
    • Pray that mercy and truth preserve them and that their position be kept in loving kindness (Pro 20:28).
    • Pray that they would seek forgiveness for their wrongs and forgive those who have wronged them (Mat 6:12)

    Peace and Prosperity

    • Pray that the righteous would flourish in their days and that there would be an abundance of peace (Ps 72:2, 7).
    • Pray that they would search out those matters the Father has concealed (Pro 25:2), including solutions, ideas and visions for redemptive Governance.
